The article presents the author's views on Jerusalem with regard to its religious and historical significance and man's search for meaning. Topics include the history of Jerusalem, its political and social conditions, infrastructure, and religious conflict. Also discussed are Jerusalem as the archaic and the modern, its role in the search for meaning for people's plurality, and potential for engagement.
