Research and commentary. The impact on family members of caring for a child with cerebral palsy.
- Abstract
The article discusses research being done on the impact of taking care of a child suffering from cerebral palsy on parents' quality of life. The study involved 24 mothers and 13 fathers of children and young individuals suffering from cerebral palsy. Results showed that taking care of a cerebral palsied child affects the physical and social wellbeing of the parents. The author emphasizes the need to consider the health and wellbeing of parents with cerebral palsied children.
