- Abstract
Appropriate postoperative pain control is important because of suffering release, preventing negative results of untreated pain resulting in postoperative complications or developing neuropathic pain. Cancer patients constitute a particular challenge in this matter because they suffer for a long period of time before surgical procedure and a potential underlying disease treatment they might have received impairs some organs and systems. It is important that postoperative pain treatment should be performed according to the same standards as in all other patients. One should also remember about individual patient assessment and adjust pain therapy to general condition and preoperative treatment.
