- Abstract
The article presents information on knee replacement. It notes that the most common reason for knee replacement is osteoarthritis, the destruction of the cartilage tissue between layers of a joint. The diagnostic tests conducted before knee replacement surgery are cited, including diagnostic x-rays, arthroscopy and cardiac testing. The types of knee replacement surgery are also described, including partial knee replacement, minimally knee replacement and total knee replacement. The complications of knee replacement are also noted.
