- Abstract
The article discusses the Chinese painting "Album of Twelve Flowers," by the Ch'ing dynasty painter Yün Shou-p'ing. Yün is considered as one of the major painters in the Ch'ing dynasty as he excelled in the classical fields of painting, poetry and calligraphy. The painting reflects the painter's interest in the painting of flowers and birds in which he adopted the Northern Sung boneless method. Rich colors were used by Yün and his depiction of plum blossoms is described as poetic and symbolic.
