- Abstract
The article presents the case study of a 78 year old female with a two day history of abdominal pain with non-bilious vomiting. The laparotomy of the patient was performed which revealed a giant inflamed diverticulum of the proximal jejunum containing an enterolith with localised perforation. After dissecting the giant diverticulum from the transverse colon, the patient recovered remarkably. The article also discusses the complications involved with enterolith formation within diverticula.
