- Abstract
The article describes a case of renal artery embolism following thrombolytic therapy for prosthetic valve thrombosis in a 34-year-old male patient. The patient has a history of chronic rheumatic heart disease for which he underwent both aortic and mitral valve replacement 4 years before presentation. His Doppler echocardiography confirmed a possible mitral prosthetic valve thrombosis. The patient was managed successfully with IV heparin and oral anticoagulant.
