The article presents discussion of the Russian author Vladimir Nabokov, focusing on his experience vacationing in the United States in July 1943, adapted from the book "Nabokov in America: On the Road to Lolita." Topics addressed include accounts and context surrounding the 1943 trip; Nabokov's views regarding other authors such as Ernest Hemingway, D. H. Lawrence, and William Faulkner; and how that trip was influential for Nabokov's later publishing career.
