The aim of this study is to determine the tendency to convergence between EU-15 and EU-12 countries after the eastern enlargement of European Union in the terms of basic economic and social indicators. In this context after the enlargement, EU's former and new members are compared with regards to standards of living according to PPS, purchasing power of employees, economic growth, unemployment-employment, income distribution, poverty, social state practices and then the findings are given. It may be possible to state that the eastern enlargement process did not make any contribution to solving economic and social problems of EU and furthermore specially problems of EU 15 countries are increased within this period. The stationary economic growth, rise of unemployment, deteriorate of income distribution and decline of social state continued even after the Eastern enlargement. Recession trends have become sticky, per capita income and purchasing power have fall, inequality in income distribution increased, unemployment and poverty rates have raised and social transfers of governments have fall for EU-15 countries in 2004-2010 period. On the other hand, in contrast with EU 15 countries it's seen that, there are some positive trends, in economic and social indicators which are analysed in this study, for new European Union members. It's pointed out that, high growth rates have seen, employees real incomes and income per capita according to purchasing power parity have raised and distribution of income have become more equal according to Gini coefficient, poverty rate have fall and social transfers of governments have raised for 12 new European Union members, after eastern enlargement. As a result, it may mentioned that, static convergence is revealed between EU-15 and EU-12 countries after eastern enlargement of EU
