- Title
Reconciling the Discrepancies in Medicine's Relationship to Medical Marijuana.
- Authors
Braun, Ilana; Tulsky, James
- Abstract
The article discusses the medical community which assumes a contradictory stance toward medical marijuana (MM). It states that cannabis was considered a legitimate medical compound in the 1930s and the American Medical Association lobbied Congress against rendering marijuana federally illegal. It states that health system infrastructure does not always support MM certification like the Epic Systems, an electronic health record that do not allow clinicians to add MM to patient's medication list.
