- Abstract
The article focuses on a study related to efficacy of fixed-duration antibiotic therapy in clinical outcomes of complicated intraabdominal infection compared to longer-duration clinical course-based therapy. It states colon or rectum as the most frequent origin of the infection and mentions that fixed-duration antibiotics did not differ from the longer duration therapy after source control in the intraabdominal infections. It notes the limitations of the study like lower of severe illness.
