- Abstract
The article reports on India's art industry seeing an investment returns in art which outstripped real estate returns. It says that art funds, gala openings, and a seminar was organized to establish a Delhi Biennale. It ddds that the country's contemporary art has been cheltered by art fairs and biennials due to global markets declined in 2008. Historian Dipesh Chakravarty mentions that political modernity is impossible to think without invoking concepts of genealogies.
