- Abstract
In 2010-2013 the field experiment was conducted in Experimental Station "Swojec" belonging to Wrocław University od Environmental and Life Sciences. In the experiment the productivities of sugar beet and spring wheat were compared by grain and wheat units. Crops were grown in four tillage systems: conventional tillage with winter plow (A), reduced tillage with shallowed winter plow - 15 cm and additionally cover crop or sugar beet leaves were applied into soil (B), conservation tillage (no winter plow and organic fertilizers were left at the surface as mulch) (C) or minimum tillage for sugar beet and no-tillage for wheat (D). The subplot was varying nitrogen fertilization: 80, 120 or 160 kg N· ha-1 for sugar beet and 40, 80 or 120 kg N· ha-1 for wheat. The tested meters of production showed similar usefulness to compare the productivity of wheat and sugar beet expressed in grain and wheat units. Higher productivity of main and by-product yields expressed in grain and wheat units was obtained under plow tillage than no tillage. The scale of changes expressed in grain and wheat units was comparable. Increasing rates of nitrogen favored consistent increase of production meters. Spring wheat yielding depended on sugar beet leaves application to a large extent. If they were mixed with soil by plowing, the value of grain and wheat units was respectively higher by 13.8 and 14.7% than after no use of organic fertilization.
