- Abstract
The article describes a case of local bupivacaine toxicity in a 28-year-old male resulting in pulseless electrical activity during an electrophysiology procedure that was successfully treated by lipid emulsion infusion. The patient exhibited generalized seizure activity with severe tonic-clonic activity after receiving an injection of a mixture of lidocaine and bupivacaine during implantation of a biventricular implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD). He recovered from his cardiac arrest after receiving his second dose of lipid emulsion infusion.
