- Abstract
The article discusses the Appalachian novelist Harriette Arnow's settling in a Keno, Kentucky farm with her husband Harold Arnow in 1939, after moving from Cincinnati, Ohio. The article often provides excepts from Harriette Arnow's journal titled "Early Days at Keno." An overview of the repair work on the Arnows' farmhouse, including their receipt of help from their neighbors in this regard, is provided. An overview of the Arnows' agricultural practices, including their herding of pigs, is also provided.
