- Abstract
The article focuses on the extent of the professional freedom of translators. The author discusses this topic on the basis of the Ukrainian translations, made by Ukrainian poet, writer and translator Yuri Andrukhovych, of the works of poets from the group of American post-World War II writers called the Beat Generation. The dimensions where a translator's liberty is exercised are also discussed.
