Laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) is now the most popularly performed procedure, which accounts for 59.4% of all the bariatric surgeries in 2019 according to the recent estimated data from ASMBS [[1]]. The authors concluded that staple line reinforcement reduces minor postoperative bleeding but not major bleeding or leaks and is not cost-effective if routinely used in sleeve gastrectomy.
