- Abstract
The article examines the need for regulation to protect consumers in relation to 'lemon' motor vehicles in Australia, as of April 2016. Topics discussed include existing bases upon which consumers can obtain relief for economic loss arising from defects in motor vehicles under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL); difficulties encountered by consumers in litigating motor vehicle disputes in courts and tribunals; and jurisdictions to resolving 'lemon' motor vehicle disputes.
