In this article, the author discusses territoriality and the construction of territorial borders in context with the securitization of Australian border. Topics discussed include the Australian refugee and immigration policy, importance of regulating Australian borders for the national security, and comments made by sociologist Didier Bigo on securitization of migration. Other topic discussed include security enforcement practices at the border.
