Drinnan, Ross; Campbell, Jenny
- Abstract
The article discusses the issues that relate to causation in the securities class actions in the context of Aristocrat Leisure Ltd. (Aristocrat) case in Australia. Accordingly, causation is an essential element of the causes of actions that become the basis for most of the securities class actions to prosper and brought in the federal court in the country. It explains that claimant must establish a contravening conduct that caused its loss to establish an entitlement to compensatory damages in any securities class actions.
