- Abstract
Through an investigation of U.S. Supreme Court precedent, the article explores the veracity of claims regarding the relationships between legislation on racial classification and strict scrutiny, and discrimination and equal protection. Focus is given to the Supreme Court cases Hunter v. Erickson and Shaw v. Reno. Other topics discussed include the race theory concept of colorblindness, affirmative action jurisprudence, and election redistricting.
