- Abstract
The article comments on the paper "A Critical Appraisal of the Evidence for Using Cardiotocography Plus ECG ST Interval Analysis for Fetal Surveillance in Labor. Part II: The Meta-Analyses" by Per Olofsson et al. The paper is commended for providing a critical appraisal of all five reviews assessing the effect of cardiotocography (CTG) plus electrocardiography (ECG) ST interval analysis (STAN) versus CTG only. The function of metabolic acidosis as a perinatal outcome parameter is noted.
