- Abstract
Developing and evaluating community-oriented integrated practice run into the same obstacle - the 'linear paradigm'. This is a simple, compartmentalised, reductionist way of thinking, often called 'evidence' or 'positivist inquiry'. It is like looking at the world through a pin-hole camera, unable to see the bigger context. It is good at seeing single facts and simple causes and effects, but it cannot see the dynamic cocreativity of everyday life, including COIP. This paper draws on Guba and Lincoln's fourth generation evaluation that combines the positivist paradigm with critical theory and constructivist paradigms.
