- Abstract
The article reprints the 1749-1750 political journal entries of Edward Harley, Earl of Oxford (1699-1755), while he served in the House of Lords in Great Britain's Parliament. Some of the events discussed include the appointment of Granville Leveson-Gower, Viscount Trentham, as a Lord of the Admiralty and the subsequent parliamentary elections in Westminster, England; the reduction in rate of return for government annuities from four to three percent; and the imposition of duties on pig and bar iron imported from Britain's American colonies.
