- Authors
Patel, Kv; Wong, T.
- Abstract
Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography has become an almost exclusively therapeutic procedure, indicated for choledocholithiasis, biliary and pancreatic neoplasms and postoperative biliary complications. In this review, KV Patel and T Wong give a detailed account of its indications, complications and absolute and relative contraindications. The safety and efficacy profile of this technique, when compared with other approaches, has been confirmed in a large, multicentred, comprehensive UK audit.
