- Abstract
The article discusses the music and culture of the Nunatsiavut, an Inuit tribal people in Canada. It cites the Inuit cultural exhibit held in April 2006, which inaugurated the Nunatsiavut regional government in Newfoundland and Labrador. During the event, traditional music was performed, considered surprising, as it was believed much of their practices were forgotten. This was the cited result of Christian missionary activity which considered much of their culture demonic, and banned. It states that the people are relearning their heritage.
