- Abstract
The article evaluates the cervical cancer screening guidelines with a focus on the role the human papillomavirus (HPV) testing. It states that the two screening methods include the conventional Pap smear where a sample of cervical cells are placed directly on a slide and the liquid-based cytology where the sample of cervical cells where immersed into a container of liquid fixative. It notes that HPV testing is beneficial in cytology diagnoses.
