The article discusses the prevalence of ovarian cancer along with role of health care providers to emphasize the importance of routine examinations and follow-up care. It outlines several types of ovarian cancer including germ cell tumors, sex-cord stromal, and epithelial. It stresses the concept of CA-125 biomarkers as a potential screening tool for early detection of ovarian cancer. It suggests a need for patient to be aware of the importance of relaying accurate personal and family history.
