- Abstract
The article provides updates on the condition of the public cord blood bank in Canada. It notes that a plan whether to support the first phase of a public cord blood bank for domestic supply has been scheduled to be decided by the provincial and territorial deputy ministers of health in the country. Moreover, it pertains that the deputy ministers have accorded to fund the plan that would exceed over the estimated cost of $4.5 million. Doctor Donna Wall of the Manitoba Blood and Marrow Transplant Program mentions the slow development within the Canadian Blood Services due to the difficulty to keep community interest.
