- Abstract
The article cites several studies undertaken to meet the risk reduction needs of HIV positive patients. Recent studies document ongoing behavior conferring risk for HIV and incident sexually transmitted diseases among some individuals living with HIV/AIDS. There was consensus that the theoretical models tested for prevention interventions with HIV positive persons have been limited to variants of social cognitive theory. Although some trials incorporate contextual factors in conceptualizing interventions, most interventions utilized cognitive behavioral skill building interventions to target behavior change of individuals and small groups.
