- Abstract
The author reflects on the notions of home and exile in this essay. The reasons for the decision of Cubans to leave Cuba during the revolution initiated by Fidel Castro are explored. The social conditions of Cubans who were sent to the U.S. to escape Castro's revolution are described. The cessation of the existence of home as a real place which begins when one leaves his or her home is discussed. The author also discusses the correlation between home and the people. He argues that home is also a wish list and that sometime exiles found it only in their dreams.
