Title
Nitrate Levels.
Abstract
The article discusses changes in the ratio of nitrate to phosphorus caused by atmospheric and riverine pollutants in the oceans off the coasts of Korea and Japan that may influence marine ecology and marine plant composition based on Korean and U.S. research in 2011. Raymond G. Najjar of the Pennsylvania State University claims that increased nitrate in the ocean can lead to shortage in phosphorus. The nutrient change is seen to favor organisms better suited for high nitrate and low phosphorus.
