- Abstract
Cover: During the potential mapping of reinforced concrete structures the potential difference between the reinforcing steel embedded in concrete and an external reference electrode placed on the concrete surface is determined. The figure shows a so‐called potential funnel which can be detected only in a 3D representation. Locally limited and pronounced potential shifts to more negative potential values are often an indication of active reinforcement corrosion. The absolute potential values are of minor importance.
