- Abstract
The article presents information on deep-sea turbidite systems. Canyons are the most important locations to study sediment transport and slope failures in deep-sea turbidite systems because they are bordered by steep flanks generating frequent sediment slides. It is viewed that the rapid growth knowledge of deep-sea submarine systems which has occurred during the last 25 years is mainly due to technological improvements.
