- Abstract
The article analyzes various short stories written by U.S. author Ernest Hemingway, including "Indian Camp," "Fathers and Sons," and "The Doctor and the Doctor's Wife." The author examines Hemingway's depictions of primitivism in these works as well as his portrayals of Native Americans. He seeks to explain the complex nature of Hemingway's protagonists, especially the character Nick Adams, and their representation of the decline of U.S. primitivism.
