- Title
Estrategias de reproducción social en hogares periurbanos: un modelo para su análisis.
- Authors
Hernández Flores, José Álvaro
- Abstract
Based on a multiple case study developed in three periurban locations in central Mexico, this paper aims to present the theoretical model that was used in the analysis of social reproduction strategies of periurban households. To this purpose, Pierre Bourdieu's theoretical approaches to the reproductive dynamics of the social world, as well as the central categories of field, habitus and capital, are recovered. The proposed model allows explaining the factors involved in the formation of reproductive strategies systems at the locality level, as well as the attachment or deviation of family practices to that system. Beyond its potential for the analysis of social reproduction in the periurban territory, it is considered that this model may be appropriate for the analysis of family strategies in contexts of profound structural changes.
