- Abstract
The article discusses the book "A New Voyage to Carolina," by English naturalist and colonist John Lawson, focusing on its publication in 1709. The book relates Lawson's observations from his travels in colonial North Carolina and South Carolina. The author comments on the role of publisher and bookseller James Knapton. He examines various contents of the book, including a charter issued by British King Charles II to the Lords Proprietors for Carolina. A map made by map engraver John Senex is also considered.
