- Abstract
This article is a historiographical analysis of how the memory of Basque Radical Rock is being transmitted in the context of the battle for the narrative of the recent history of Euskadi. To this end, it examines the main existing theses, their arguments (mythomania, nostalgia and romanticization) and their gaps, stressing the need to contextualize the study of the RRV within the framework of ETA's violence, attending to the gestation and feedback of a protest community linked to the nationalist left. It is concluded that the RRV was instrumentalized by the latter with the aim of spreading its ideology and, therefore, contradicts the thesis that there was no strategic decision in the achievement of this objective, but rather synergies between musical groups and ideas.
