- Authors
WOODSTOCK, LOUISE
- Abstract
The article analyzes the television programs "Miami Ink" and "LA Ink". Particular focus is given to their context in the neoliberal political atmosphere of the 21st-century U.S. According to the author, the therapeutic narratives used to discuss the shows' stars as they work with artists to design and receive a tattoo exemplify the individualistic and apolitical ideals of neoliberalism.
