- Abstract
The article examines the supernatural experiences of various individuals in North Carolina and in the U.S. in general, the sightings of anomalous lights, including ghost lights, orbs, unidentified flying objects, and other observations of unexplained lights or aerial phenomena. The sightings often occur between 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. according to scientist Jacques Vallee. The duration of the sighting lasts from five to twenty minutes. Thirty-three percent of the population believed that extraterrestrials have visited the Earth according to a 2001 Gallup Poll.
