- Title
Troilus and Cressida: An Epitaph for the History Play.
- Authors
Walker, Lewis
- Abstract
The article discusses "Troilus and Cressida," a tragedy by William Shakespeare. The play is set during the final years of the Trojan War. The author implies that Shakespeare experimented into combining Renaissance and classical epic ideas by blending the myth of Troy with political, cultural and artistic stories of his time to create an impression of indefiniteness. It is suggested that Shakespeare's work on Troilus has resulted into the formation of a new middle that has no limit.
