- Abstract
This article presents an exploration into the popular views of drunkenness and wisdom during the Biblical era. The personification of Wisdom seen within the Old Testament, the writings of Philo of Alexandria, and the New Testament Gospel passages of Luke 7:35 and Matthew 11:19 are each explored regarding their interpretations of the non-associations of drunkenness to wise persons.
