- Title
From Lists to History: Chronological Aspects of the Chronicler's Genealogies.
- Authors
Levin, Yigal
- Abstract
The article offers a literary criticism of the ways in which the Chronicler utilized and combined the various genealogical forms to construct his genealogies as part of the literary creation of the book of Chronicles. The author examines the structure of late Iron Age and Persian Period Israelite society and oral genealogies, the structural aspects of the tribal genealogies of Israel in the Book of Chronicles, and the ways in which the genealogies impact the narrative of the rest of Chronicles.
