- Title
All Age Church: The Impossible Dream?
- Authors
Booton, Catherine
- Abstract
The phrase 'All-Age' has been in use for many years, with churches holding the occasional 'all-age' service, by which they usually mean a service aimed at the children, with children's participation, and adults as spectators. This article argues firstly for the practice to grow into its definition, for a positive inclusion of all ages. The argument is taken further, for church life and worship to recognise different learning styles and experience. The congregational model is already based on this ethos. Drawing on her own experience in ministry, and a growing field of scholarship in this are, the author concludes by introducing the notion of 'For-all church', a truly welcoming, empowering and inclusive model.
