- Abstract
The article presents an analysis of the Johannine tradition influences seen within the gnostic apocryphal book of James. Topics addressed include the difficulty in locating the text within the spectrum of early Christian sect writings, the existence of Gnostic objections to written tradition, and analysis of a collection of passages dealing with a specific topics, highlighting their relationship with the Johannine tradition.
