- Abstract
This article presents a criticism for the poem "El Paseo Ahumada" by Chilean poet Enrique Lihn. The author comments on the historical context within which the poem was written, particularly the neoliberal government policies, the recently fallen regime of Augusto Pinochet, and the Chilean economy. The incorporation of ideology, the representation of violence, as well as everyday life is also examined.
