- Abstract
Aristotle defines rhetoric as "the faculty of observing in any given case the available means of persuasion" and since mastery of the art was necessary for victory in a case at law, for passage of proposals in the assembly, or for fame as a speaker in civic ceremonies, he calls it "a combination of the science of logic and of the ethical branch of politics". In this paper, we have tried to make a comparison between the contemporary methods of Rhetoric, and for this, we have used the book of the author Dale Carnegie, The Psychology of Success 3, which, we have compared with the verses of the Qur'an and the hadeeths (sayings of Muhammad a.s.), as well as true events that took place in the time of the Prophet, or that were told after the death of Muhammad a.s., and thus, we have seen a complete correspondence between the methodology of the da'wah2 to Islam since Muhammad a.s., and contemporary methods, on which many famous lecturers are based. As we know, Muhammad a.s. has been the most eloquent person known to mankind, therefore various authors describe him as unique in this aspect, as in the whole other aspects, where Mustafa Sadik err-Rrafiu in his book "I'jazul Qur'an" says that: "The method of Muhammad a.s is special [only] in this language. You will not find excessive letters or hateful words. In all linguistic aspects, his speech is perfect, which in others we do not notice. The language of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is pure. The clarity in speech and wisdom of his speech reach full perfection.".
