- Authors
Mustafa, Nezan
- Abstract
Resistance is considered one of the obstacles to organizational change. At this point, knowing and using appropriate strategies will contribute to its successful management in the organizational change process. The purpose of this research is to analyze the resistance, its main effects on organizational change, and strategies to overcome it. The method of content analysis is conducted to collect data, which encompasses books with a focus on organizational change and resistance as part of it, followed by analysis of case studies, as well as the analysis of scientific articles and research papers from several scholars, journals, and countries. The findings indicate that resistance has both positive and negative effects on organizational change. In this regard, communication, engagement (involvement), and participation have been found to be the most common strategies for reducing resistance to organizational change. The research in question has limitations because it can be considered using only secondary data based on other scholars' research results. For this, it needs to be studied more thoroughly by analyzing the systematic literature review and applying the quantitative approach to the particular study on the factors that can increase resistance to organizational change.
