- Abstract
Eco's interest in the influence of the mass media in mass culture and musical and literary experimentalism began in the late 1950s, on which he published articles in various newspapers and magazines. In this work I have presented some reflections on communication and education, which arise from the reading of the Christmas letter dedicated to the nephew. In it you will find all the thoughts of Eco regarding the main themes that press today's society: a child's approach to the Internet, the approach to history, the theme of memory loss, historical memory etc. To approach a specific social group, the intellectual chooses the letter, a communication medium almost forgotten in the cybernetic era, but very effective that captures the essence of everything that every parent wants to transmit to their child, and does so through tenderness of the words of a grandfather.
