- Abstract
The article looks at the need of U.S. National Hockey League (NHL) and the U.S. National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA) to create new safeguards in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) to protect the health of NHL players as of March 2015. Topics discussed include legal and medical standards required of team physicians, death of NHL player Derek Boogaard due to chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), and rules for medically treat players.
